Here’s a short sample of the video piece that Kanitha and i are developing for the performance. The concept is to use short fragments from the Khmer films that i posted about a few weeks ago.
We’re planning to use short close ups of famous stars, and then to overlay them with footage taken on the street this week of people replicating the same movements.
This only features the old clips here … cos we have to leave some surprises for the show ; )
If all goes to plan, Kanitha will be performing this as a live VJ set during our upcoming music performance. For the technically minded - i’m creating some basic mixing software in Max/MSP so that we can control playback in a live setting. The idea is that we can then leave the software here on a few laptops so that Kanitha (and others) can re-use the software with different videos later, too.
